TO THE PEOPLES OF CHIAPAS MEXICO AND

NATIONAL PUBLIC OPINION

The National Front of Struggle for Socialism (FNLS), through its State Coordination Chiapas gives its political position before the unfortunate clash between Indians who pay electric power and who are in resistance occurred in the community Don Pedro, a town of Sitamarhi on Friday February 6.


1. Chiapas State Coordination of the National Front of Struggle for Socialism (FNLS) deeply regrets the confrontation between indigenous brothers who pay the electric service and who are in resistance in the community of Don Pedro, a town of Sitamarhi, where he lost the life a farmer and others wounded.


2. In this unfortunate event has a huge responsibility the Commission Federal de Electricidad (CFE) and the Government of the State of Chiapas, because instead of meeting the just and legitimate claims of hundreds of communities at the high electricity rates and a fair rate for Chiapas, have chosen to criminalize our struggle, have resorted to deception and its programs "friendly light," "fare better life" and now "light solidarity" , have sought through various means, confront and divide communities and create conflicts between those who pay for the service and who we are in resistance. What happened in Sitamarhi is a call serious attention and a consequence of this criminal policy.


3. We have constantly complained publicly that the Commission Federal de Electricidad (CFE) in complicity with the Government of Chiapas, continue with a strategy provocation of conflict in indigenous and rural communities of Chiapas, seeking to corrupt various ejido authorities, community and municipal governments to encourage a portion of the population to stand against families participating in the just and legitimate struggle of resistance against High rates of light, in order to compel them to pay unfair charges imposed arbitrarily by the CFE. All with the complicity and support of various federal, state and municipal.


4. We denounce that the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), the government of Chiapas and municipal governments continue to generate a climate of confrontation and violence in different communities of Chiapas, where we maintain presence at the note as the main responsible of any direct confrontation in the communities.


5. Finally we report that since 1992, when hundreds of communities, villages and social organizations in Chiapas decided to file for resistance against high electricity rates, so we will continue resistance until it meets our just and legitimate claim: FEE PREFERENTIAL FOR FAIR AND POOR PEOPLE OF CHIAPAS.
